Outsource or Not? 7 Criteria to Help you Decide

Category : Business

Whether you own a company (online or offline) or whether you work on your own as a freelancer there is always a time when you have to decide if you will undertake a particular part of a project or task you need to complete. In other words, you need to decide if you will outsource or not. Here is a list of 7 criteria to help you decide:

  • The particular task(s) isn’t your core competence and is not a main part of your business. The task will not generate any profits and is not a source of competitive advantage. Example: you own an online store which generates its income selling products and you want to rank higher in the search engines. You should consider outsourcing Search engine optimization (SEO) to a specialized company or individual.
  • The task is repetitive or routine that wastes your time and keeps you from doing what you are supposed to do. For example if you are running a small business you should consider outsourcing your accounting to a professional accountant.
  • The task is only a one-time need or repeats in regular intervals. For example, you want to have a complete redesign of your website. Learning web design would not really be an option so outsourcing would be the solution. Continue Reading

Top Tips to get listed in Dmoz Directory

Category : Directories, General chit chat

Since there has been alot of talk with you guys on how to submit to Dmoz ill give a couple of steps that i do in the Directory submission.

First things first , check your site to make sure its of the highest quality it can be, I.e no broken links anywhere, all content is relevant and in general its pleasing to the eye.

Its also worth noting at the bottom of every category you will see if that category has an editor, if it hasnt then your wait could be longer because an editor from a higher level will probably have to come and look at your submission.

Removing Reported Attack Site from your website

Category : Marketing

Ive seen alot of forum posts lately with webmasters asking how they can remove the dreaded “Reported Attack site” Warning on their sites.

Many because their site has been Hacked and a malicious script had been installed by the hacker, After searching google it took me a while to find a sensible answer, alot of the replies consisted of changing domain name , changing nameservers and loads more way over the top suggestions.

In reality all you need to look at is these links :

* To request removal from the list of reported phishing sites, use this form provided by Google.
