3 Tips for Increasing Twitter Traffic and Followers

Twitter is a fantastic marketing tool that is now used by millions of people all around the world. The great thing about Twitter is that it allows you to communicate with your customers and people that are interested in your company or website directly, which has never really been able to be done before, at least not free of charge. However, if you have set up a Twitter account in the past, you might have found that it was a bit of a struggle to get people to actually come to your Twitter page and read your content as well as follow you. Well, here are a few pointers to help you increase your traffic.

  1. Quality not Quantity – The first thing to remember about your Twitter followers and traffic is that quality is more important than quantity. There are a lot of people that work on the ‘I’ll follow you if you follow me’ basis these days and this really isn’t a good way to work. Chances are that they have little or no interest in your company and are just looking to get followers too. You should try and attract people that are relevant and communicate properly with them.
  2. Send out great content – Whether you have written the content that you are sending out or not, make sure the quality is good. As well as this, make sure it is relevant content that you know your followers will want to hear about. If you don’t do this, you will not get a very good response and good quality content will always get retweets and encourage more followers and traffic.
  3. Offer a competition or bonus – Often, offering a bonus or a competition for something in return might work well for you. For example, you could offer a free eBook download for anyone that retweets a post or the chance to win a signed copy of your book when they follow you. Creativity is the key with this one.

Twitter is still a bit of a mystery to most so if you are really stuck, you can always hire a company that works in this area to take care of your Twitter account for you.
