Making your website social with Facebook, Twitter and more

One of the big things in websites at the moment is making sure that they have some sort of interaction with social networking websites. Although one of the most important things for getting visitors to your website is of course your search engine ranking, social networking websites can also attract a lot of traffic and it can be very targeted traffic if you know what you are doing. As well as this, there are many other advantages social networking has including increasing your SERP. Here are some of the things you should make sure to include;

  1. Facebook integration – There are a lot of different things you can do with this social networking website when it comes to your website and at the very last, you should be including a ‘Like’ button on your content. This will enable users to easily be able to show their friends that they like your content on Facebook. As well as this, there is the ‘Share’ button which will allow people to share your content with all of their friends. This is a great way of bringing in the traffic. There are also ways to allow comments on your website through Facebook integration and even allow people to login. This is an area you should explore a lot.
  2. Twitter – Twitter integration in your website is a must. All you need to do with this is add a ‘Tweet’ button to your content to allow people to share it. There are other ways of integration and these should be looked into.
  3. Google Plus One – This is a new social networking button that is expected to become the new Facebook ‘Like’ button. There is still no word as to whether or not Google will launch their own social network, but the Google Plus One button works in the same way almost as the Facebook ‘Like’ button. We urge you to get this on your website as soon as possible.

Of course, there are many other social networks out there for integration including LinkedIn and Myspace. The more social your website is, the higher traffic rankings and search engine rankings you will see.
