The 100 Oldest Domain Names

MSN recently released a list of the first 100 domain names ever publicly registered on the Internet. Surprisingly, the domain registrations go all the way back to 1985. I found it very interesting myself, and I thought I would share it with everyone who has not yet seen the list.

If only we all knew how valuable a great domain name would be in the future, we all could have been millionaires! I actually used to work Dell tech support with the guy who sold mortgage.com for a little over $2 million and worked just for something to do.

  1. Interesting list.
I started buying domains in 1999 and I got laughed at a lot for spending so much money and time buying domains and building sites. Now the laughers are very very quite!

  2. Brilliant findings dude! If I would have been the owner of one of these domains…then I am just imagining how Rich i would have been. But LOL that when the first domain was purchased, I was not even born!

  3. really nice list i dont about this sites and msn is also old domain and there are some other domains which are more older than that try to search them and post it

  4. If i knew that this will take off, i would have purchased many domains. Even if i had known about this web thing 10 years before, i could have made millions.
All of us could have done it. I would have bought education.com
now, some people believe that new extensions like .me and .name will take off like .com and .net did. But i don’t believe in this. What you guys think?
